SESNA held its Annual Meeting on Nov. 19 – maybe it was the weather, but the turn-out was very low, although we were thrilled to meet some new folks!
Everyone won door prizes, which included $30 gift cards to local restaurants and businesses. The food was incredible with a lot left over.
Also great was the information about traffic control from the city engineer – especially on what WE can do instead of screaming at the car speeding by our house, kids and pets. We learned plans to handle the historic budget crises. It’s grim.
We met neighbors who inspired us with home improvements (we give prizes for that, too!).
We don’t meet in December – but if you care about the future of SESNA (your neighborhood voice) reach out. Tell us how we should shift. Should we give up? Our future is uncertain.
If you’re concerned about losing critical services, PLEASE plan to attend our Jan. 28 “budget conversation”, a special gathering with NESCA, our northeast Salem neighborhood association. Details TBA.
Loyal, outstanding board members have served SESNA for many, many years. We are your advocates. But now we need NEW brains to keep the momentum – that is, if you want to have a say in what happens in and to our neighborhood.
We re-elected the board for next year – myself, Bill Smaldone, Seleste Liyanage, Jeff Leach and Dave Tompkins. As chair, I will serve one more year, but it will be my last. I will continue on the board, however, as support because I’ll never give up to make things better.
