Clean Quiet Salem Our Neighborhood

The Quiet Clean Resolution

This week SESNA passed a resolution supporting the Quiet Clean Salem movement in reducing the effects of noise and air pollution of yard tools on all our lives. This follows the SCAN neighborhood who joined in February, and hopefully just the first of manny to follow.

Gas-powered tools like lawnmowers and leaf blowers have become synonymous with urban noise pollution, disrupting the tranquility of residential neighborhoods.

These tools emit disruptive noise, hindering relaxation, concentration and social interaction. Excessive noise pollution can lead to stress, sleep disturbances, and cardiovascular issues.

Quieter alternatives foster a peaceful environment for residents to unwind, enjoy their surroundings and each other’s company.

By reducing noise levels, neighborhoods safeguard the mental and physical well-being of their residents.

Gas-powered tools also emit harmful emissions, contributing to air pollution and climate change. Transitioning to electric or manual alternatives minimizes environmental impact and supports a cleaner future.

By embracing cleaner, quieter alternatives, neighborhoods set a positive example for children, instilling values of environmental responsibility and respect for peace and tranquility.
